Lane James Band Benefit Concert
"They fought for us, so let's fight for them." That's the battle cry of this special benefit concert supporting Homecoming for Veterans, an organization aiding returning soldiers suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. For singer, songwriter, and bandleader Lane James, it's a cause that hits close to home. Although he was raised in a musical family, Lane didn't find his voice until after he'd been drafted and shipped to Vietnam at the age of 17. When he returned home, he began channeling his intense emotions into a vibrant songwriting career, starting with his 1983 debut, Takin' the Happy Road Home. After a 30-year hiatus, during which Lane raised a family and started a business, the unflinchingly honest songwriter returns with a brand new album entitled Time for The Truth. Steeped in an familiar sound that can evoke the classic-rock boogie of Bob Seger and the easy-going glide of Jimmy Buffett, Lane's latest batch of songs feature insightful and inspirational lyrics that can only be crafted by someone who has seen it all. Backed by an 8-piece band, Lane plays his heart out in a set of upbeat rockers and tear-jerking ballads.
