Any discussion of the United States' all-time greatest tennis players would have to include Andre Agassi and John McEnroe. Combined, the two have won a whopping 137 career singles titles—Agassi with 60 and McEnroe with 77—including 16 major championships. As McEnroe entered the twilight of his career in the late 1980s, Agassi emerged to spearhead a new era of American dominance on the tennis court, but he wasn't alone; ferocious baseliner Jim Courier helped fill the void left by the aging star by winning four major titles of his own from 1991–1993, and Michael Chang made history in 1989 by winning the French Open at age 17, becoming the youngest male player to win a major championship—a record that still stands today. On November 17, all four of these tennis icons will relive past glory at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America Championships, a one-night, three-match tournament in which they vie for bragging rights and the No. 1 ranking in the PowerShares Series. The first semifinal match takes place at 7:30 p.m., when Chang and Courier thrill fans in a one-set match packed with bludgeoning forehands and puckish passing shots. The second semifinal round starts at 8:15 p.m., as Agassi and McEnroe square off in a battle that showcases the strength of their will and the absorbency of their sweatbands. The finals start at 9 p.m., as the victors of the semifinals face off in an eight-game pro-set match that promises to be either a clash between two players who helped define the 1990s tennis landscape or a chance for McEnroe to outfox the younger countrymen that inherited his legacy.
