Country music harks back to a more courteous era, when kids still called women "ma'am" and men "daddy ma'am." Tip your hat to the good ol' days with this GrouponLive deal to see Terri Clark at Sound Academy. For $15, you get one G-Pass for general admission on Saturday, March 30, at 8 p.m. (up to a $35.25 value, including all fees). Doors open at 7 p.m. Because the ticket is a G-Pass, Groupon customers can use it to enter the venue directly; they will not need to redeem their Groupon at will call.
Montreal-born Terri Clark’s penchant for cowboy hats and six-strings can partly be attributed to her family genes: her grandparents were country musicians who shared the stage with greats by the likes of George Jones and Johnny Cash. After graduating from high school in 1987, Clark set out to fulfill a dream her grandparents were never able to accomplish: moving to Nashville and becoming a country-music star. After years of weathering countless honky-tonk gigs, she eventually earned a record deal that would pay off for both parties, with her first album reaching platinum status and vaulting her single, “If I Were You,” to the top of the Canadian charts.
Clark has been a fixture in both Canada and the United States ever since, mixing her bold and often sardonic lyrics with the Nashville tradition of wearing your heart on your sleeve and a hat that can fit 10 gallons of guacamole. Touring on the heels of her ninth album, Classic––featuring duets with Reba McEntire, Jann Arden, and Dierks Bentley––Terri revisits four decades of country standards, including such staples as “Love is a Rose” and “Gentle on My Mind.”
