GWAR with Whitechapel, Iron Reagan, & A Band of Orcs

Heartfelt ballads and subtle performances: these are two things you'll never find at a GWAR concert. Instead, fans can expect healthy doses of shock rock from the costumed band that describes itself as a "heavy metal holocaust." Known just as much for its ghoulishly theatrical live shows as its hard-hitting music, GWAR often sprays fake blood and the real tears of guitar string salesmen onto rapt audience members as it plays out an apocalyptic story of alien monsters and global warming. Live, the band thrashes their way through past favorites and new tracks from their forthcoming album, Battle Maximus.

American deathcore band Whitechapel sets the intense tone for the evening. The sextet from Tennessee delivers dark, shredded tunes made all the more powerful by lead singer Phil Bozeman's bone-chilling growl. Joining the two pulse-pounding acts are hardcore punk metal group Iron Reagan and A Band of Orcs, a heavy metal band dressed as otherworldly creatures with names including Gogog, Cretos, and Hulg.
