What You'll Do

Between the thunderous applause and pesky backstage security at classical music concerts, it's impossible to ask the performers your burning questions about each piece. Cellist Luke Krafka addresses that problem with the Halcyon Chamber Music Series, which pairs dedicated performers and interested audiences during intimate evenings of classical music. You're encouraged to start discussions with the musicians before and after the performance, during which the ensemble—often including Krafka himself—delves into beloved classical and classically inspired works.

  • Two-Hour Concert with Intermission
Cellist Luke Krafka and his world-class associates have performed works by such visionaries as Dvořák and Ravel

  • Ask Questions in a Welcoming Atmosphere
Informal discussions with the musicians take place before and after the pieces, helping audiences to better relate to the music

  • Enjoy Light Refreshments
Sip wine and munch on cheese as you mingle with like-minded aficionados and neophyte chamber music enthusiasts

Professional Cellist; Founder, Halcyon Chamber Series

With a bachelor's and master's degree in cello performance from the Boston Conservatory, Luke Krafka is no slouch in the world of professional music. His talents have landed him the assistant principle cellist position in the J.S. Bach Ensemble on its recent tour of Germany, and he recently released a self-titled album that features works by Brahms, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff. The intrepid musician hasn't stopped there, however, founding the Halcyon Chamber Music Series to bring classical music's old masters and new voices to audiences in an accessible environment.
