Although Meek Mill has only recently signed to Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group, the young yet prolific hip-hop artist has already released nine mixtapes, snagged multiples celebrity collaborators, and earned a spot on Spin's 40 Best Hip-Hop Albums of 2012. Dark poetry and a pendulous, thumping beat permeate his declarative debut single, "Tupac Back," which appears on the compilation album Self Made Vol. 1 and features the full-throated bark of Rick Ross himself.

After appearing on two MMG collaborative albums, Meek Mill, considered one of the Hottest MCs in the Game by MTV, made his major label debut with Dreams and Nightmares. The album’s title track begins on a light note with restrained piano and reflective rhyming, but the song turns itself on its head when the rapper’s voice increases in urgency and an ominous synth casts a dark, brooding tone, showcasing Meek’s signature gravity and bombast. Striking a completely different chord, Meek Mill teams up with Drake for the playful single “Amen” and exchanges raps with Rick Ross and hip-hop legend Nas on the rock-influenced “Mayback Curtains,” which offers step-by-step advice on hemming your own drapery. In his live show, Meek Mill brings crowds to a fever pitch with highlights from Dreams and Nightmares, as well as cuts from his extensive back catalog.

La Covacha (The Cove)

Since 1988, La Covacha––known on Thursday nights as The Cove––has been an international club where revelers bask in the dance floor's multicolored lights and boogie to contemporary Latin and pop music. The club’s La Movida Wednesday fuels fun with an open bar, and on International Fridays, DJ Jhonny M spins new tunes until 5 a.m., when dancers leave to go ice fishing. Although every night has a different theme, there are many aspects that remain the same all week long: dancing, drinks, and live entertainment.
