A housemade soup du jour warms up appetites before a choice of sauce-slathered ribs or chicken and sides of honey-baked cornbread and baked beans transport stomachs to medieval times. For no extra charge, chefs accommodate vegetarian and diabetic-friendly diets and can upgrade plates with double chicken for protein lovers or amateur poultry collectors. While audience members attempt to make sense of their newly stretched reality, a cadre of costumed servers piles tables high with ribs and chicken—or chicken strips and french fries for wee ones—and oversees edible disappearing acts.
