In a Nutshell

Guest cradle martini glasses and savor local food and drink samples to the pop tunes of Andy Grammer, Woody, and November Rush

The Fine Print

A live concert is the only place where you can demand that your favorite singer play your favorite song while staring directly into your eyes. Make the moment last forever with this GrouponLive deal to Mix 100.7 Presents Martini Fest at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. For $30, you get one G-Pass for general admission on Saturday, November 17, at 7 p.m. (up to a $63 value, including all fees). General admission includes one martini glass and samplings of all food and martinis. Because the ticket is a G-Pass, Groupon customers can use it to enter the venue directly; they will not need to redeem their Groupon at will call.

At Martini Fest, Tampa pop radio station Mix 100.7 gently shakes and stirs festivalgoers’ senses with serene sounds and potent concoctions. As olives splash into cocktail martinis from some of the Bay Area’s reputable mixologists, sauntering socialites sample cuisine from an upstanding selection of local restaurants, such as Bella’s Italian Café, Grille 54, and Square 1 Burgers. Ears also gorge on a veritable feast of effervescent pop music emanating from the festival’s stage.

Fresh off his national tour with Train and fast on the heels of contemporaries such as John Mayer and Maroon 5, adult-pop radio juggernaut Andy Grammer headlines the soiree with his unsinkable charm and swooning hits such as “Fine By Me” and “Keep Your Head Up” from his self-titled debut album. Easy on both the eyes and ears, Grammer has the look of a romantic-comedy leading man and a voice most girlfriends fantasize about as they put their boyfriends on mute. Sunshine State singer-songwriters Woody and Danny Freeman chime in with their laid-back acoustic folk pop that sounds similar to James Taylor playing frisbee with Dave Matthews, and the electropop duo of November Rush creates high-heeled sparks with their infectious dance tunes.

Due to security restrictions, G-Passes must be printed out and presented in person at the event. They cannot be redeemed through Groupon's mobile app.

The Groupon Guide to: Basketball Plays

Though it might seem like basketball players are just running around to maintain enough sweat to look beautiful on television, they are actually running complex offensive plays. Here are some simple plays that you can try out next time you hit the hardtop:

Dribble Drive: Each offensive player grabs a basketball and dribbles to the hoop. The one who dribbles fastest wins the points.

Pick and Roll: One of the players "picks" which teammate he believes will be the one to shoot the ball. If he is correct, the player that took the shot has to call a timeout so he can immediately get his reward—a "roll" filled with ham and creamed corn.

Backdoor Cut: This is considered the trickiest play in basketball because it requires the offensive team to distract the defense by having their coach put on a top hat, wander onto the court, and ask the defensive players if they'd like to see what his head looks like without a top hat. If the defensive players ignore the coach's distraction, the offensive players should blow on the defenders' eyes until the dryness becomes unbearable.

Which basketball player was voted most beautiful?
