In a Nutshell

Aerialists soar and hilarious clowns dazzle family audiences in a three-ring circus spectacular

The Fine Print

Hearty laughs and daring thrills are central to the best circuses, just as capitalized dialogue and awkward cameos by math teachers are central to the most compelling siblings' diaries. Snoop on an entertaining show with this GrouponLive deal to see Circus Gatti. Doors open 30 minutes before each show. Choose between the following options:

  • For $25, you get a family package that includes general admission for two adults and up to three children aged 12 and younger (up to a $49.50 value, including all fees). Choose from the following showtimes and venues:

  • For $37, you get the above family package (up to a $49.50 value, including all fees) and a meet-and-greet photo session after the show (a $5 value each; up to a $74.50 total value). Choose from the following showtimes and venues:

    • Friday, August 31, at 7:30 p.m., at Rich Valley Agri-Plex
    • Saturday, September 1, at 2 p.m., at Westlock Jubilee Arena
    • Tuesday, September 4, at 7:30 p.m., at Ponoka AG Event Centre

At Circus Gatti, hilarious showmen and thrilling daredevils delight families in an outrageous three-ring spectacle. The BMX Freaks soar through the air with the aid of their agile bikes and their helium-infused bones, and Miss Beehaven delivers further aerial thrills while fluttering beside her hive in an aerial ballet. Hirsute humourist Laughing Leo elicits chuckles with his comedy routine, and Miss Natalia induces awe with an aerial contortion act rarely seen outside Russia.

The Groupon Guide to: Babe Ruth Myths

As the story of Babe "The Baby" Ruth's baseball career continues to be told to new generations, the facts are becoming more and more distorted. Dispel common Ruth myths with his handy guide:

Myth: Before hitting a home run in the 1932 World Series, he "called his shot" by pointing his bat toward the center-field bleachers.
Truth: Grainy film footage confirms that "The Sultan of Swing" did in fact point toward the bleachers before hitting a home run. However, Ruth faked the home run by taking a powerful swing, catching the pitched ball, discreetly swallowing it, and yelling, "A home run! A home run is what I just struck with my bat! Now I run the bases before you all!" The ball, and the truth, weren't revealed until much later, when Babe Ruth's doctor penned the bestseller Things I've Removed from Babe Ruth's Body: The Story.

Myth: A sick child asked Babe Ruth to hit a home run for him, and Ruth did.
Truth: "The Great Home Run Provider" did hit a home run for the child, and then two more; however, the only sickness the child suffered from was being selfish.

Myth: Babe Ruth died on August 16, 1948.
Truth: Though a death certificate confirms this date, "The Nightmare on Baseball Street" continues to live on in all of us because of his final wish—for his body to be donated to Hansen Paper Co. and then slowly parceled out into their paper products.

How many baseballs did Babe Ruth swallow?
