In a Nutshell

More than 40 breweries dispense samples of brews alongside food stalls, arts and crafts, and live entertainment in a scenic park

The Fine Print

Though the "noble experiment" of Prohibition failed, other noble experiments, such as teaching horses how to shoot guns and giving suffrage to any horse that could shoot a gun, were huge successes. Celebrate the failure of the 18th Amendment with this GrouponLive deal to the Northern Virginia BrewFest at Bull Run Regional Park on Sunday, October 21, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Choose between the following options:

  • For $10, you get one admission to the festival (up to a $20 value)
  • For $19, you get two admissions to the festival (up to a $40 value)

Festival admissions do not include drink tickets. Drink tickets can be purchased onsite for $1 apiece, with samples costing one or two tickets apiece.

Surrounded by the spacious fields and woodlands of Bull Run Regional Park, Northern Virginia BrewFest summons local craft beers, food, and live entertainment beneath large party tents for an afternoon of revelry. Sampling tickets unlock the sudsy wares of more than 40 breweries, encouraging patrons to sample the fall creations of suds-slingers such as Sierra Nevada, Schlafly Brewery, and Flying Dog Brewery. Blue Ridge Kettle Korn dispenses bags of its sweet-and-salty snacks, and other local eateries offer their wares to fill stomachs and stave off cartoon bears that mistake kegs for honey pots. Arts-and-crafts exhibitors display stalls of shirts, candles, and eclectic pieces, and local and regional bands enhance the scene with catchy tunes and beer-filled trumpets.

The Groupon Guide to: Buying a Car

Buying a car is an intimidating experience. The man looks at you. He wants to sell you the car for more than it is worth. Beat the man. Beat the man until he cries with these tips:

  • Always drive the car. This will let you make sure that it is free of the five most deadly species on earth and that it has a floor and the dealer isn’t Flintstone-ing you (a technique wherein the dealer sells you a car with no floor named after Flint Stone, an early dishonest car salesman).

  • Immediately list everything you hate about the car. It has a nick here, a dent there. It is the same color as your rival’s eyes. You looked at them in a field. You were the last man to look at those eyes. Your rival sold you a lemon. He is gone.

  • When the dealer says the price, scream. Oh, scream until your nose bleeds and all of creation fears your machinations. Oh, scream your voice raw, honey. Good heavens!

  • Ride away on your bicycle. This was good practice for when you really decide to buy a car.

Be sure to scream as fiercely as a newborn babe or warrior brave. Scream with all your grit, sweet honey.
