Piccadilly Circus celebrates its 25th year of delighting family audiences around the country with its touring spectacle of suspenseful thrills and slapstick laughs. On the eve of New Year’s Eve, audiences gather early to feast on a spread of mouthwatering Italian cuisine as a lively eight-piece band unleashes a set list of hip-swinging tunes. Later in the evening, nestled under the yellow and blue stripes of a 70-foot big-top tent, the circus extravaganza rolls out such death-defying acts as motorcyclists somersaulting through the air on their bikes, contortionists impossibly bending their limbs, and middle-aged men cutting back on their sodium intake. In celebration of the winter season, the production’s special effects team conjures up a realistic snow blizzard that fills the big top.
