As prized steed Bushwacker convalesces from a recent surgery, the 1,500-pound Asteroid attempts to fill his hoof-shaped shoes. The third event on the 2013 schedule, the Winston-Salem Invitational gives riders a chance to compete for a healthy prize purse and make their presence felt in the early season rankings as they jockey for the $1 million bonus awarded to the year’s World Champion.
