What You’ll Do
Under the instruction of photography maven Rachel Lincoln, you’ll learn how to apply the functions on your DSLR and capture frame-worthy pictures. During the first part of this workshop, Rachel covers the technical elements of composition, such as using the aperture to change the depth of field, altering the shutter speed for a certain shot, or striking the perfect white balance. She also discusses lighting and tips for incorporating interesting angles amid the monuments surrounding Old Smithsonian Castle. The group will then walk over to the Lincoln or Jefferson Memorial to practice photographing creative shots of people at the monuments.
