The 2012 Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas pits the Texas Tech Red Raiders against the University of Minnesota's Golden Gophers before a crowd of up to 71,500 fans at Reliant Stadium. Named the Big 12 athlete most likely to throw a football into orbit, Tech's senior quarterback, Seth Doege, capped off the regular season with 3,934 yards through the air and 38 passing TDs. Lining up opposite Doege, Minnesota's 11th-ranked pass defense features a slew of All-Cconference players ready to ground the Red Raiders' air show. The Golden Gophers' D allowed only 178.5 passing yards per game this season, and with 8.5 sacks all on his own, All-Big Ten defensive end D.L. Wilhite has spent the year flattening QBs so they're easier to recycle.
