The Scouting Report

After seizing the National Lacrosse League championship last season, the Knighthawks have returned to the pitch eyeing visions of a repeat title through their facemasks. Outscoring their opponents 100–92 in the first nine games of the season, the K-Hawks currently roost at fourth place in the Eastern Division standings. Star forward Cody Jamieson—whose four-goal, four-assist performance in the championship game secured last year's title—is once again key to Rochester's attack, leading the team with 18 goals so far. Lurking across the field, the Wings invade Blue Cross Arena as the division's second-place team, perhaps a little too confident in their plan to embarrass the reigning champs by replacing all the balls with soft-boiled eggs.

Rochester Knighthawks

After joining the National Lacrosse League in 1995, the Rochester Knighthawks quickly established themselves as one of the sport's most formidable franchises. In just two years, the K-Hawks won their first championship—and their first major rivalry, too, falling to the Toronto Rock three times during subsequent championships. In 2012's title game, the team faced off against another Canadian foe, the Edmonton Rush, and won handily, earning the team its fourth championship and granting each Knighthawk lifelong Canadian citizenship as dictated by NAFTA.
