Chick Corea and Béla Fleck

**Chick Corea & Béla Fleck in Rehearsal – "Mountain"**

Aside from their decades of international success and their love of making bead-necklaces out of Grammy awards, [Chick Corea](http://www.chickcorea.com/) and [Béla Fleck](http://www.belafleck.com/) appear at first glance to have little in common. A master pianist who has guided the jazz genre since the mid-‘60s, Corea’s collaborations with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and Sun Ra are the stuff of legend. Fleck was an eight-year-old, banjo-playing New Yorker learning the theme song to The Beverly Hillbillies when the older artist’s debut album dropped. Nevertheless, their shared passions for breaking new musical ground led to their first duet compilation, 2007’s The Enchantment, which the BBC’s [Paul Sullivan](http://gr.pn/10l5vaX) called “everything a collaboration of this caliber should be—perhaps even a bit more.”
