Young Kings roster looks to snag a statement win in a high-profile Friday-night clash against Western Conference leaders OKC Thunder

The Scouting Report

The Kings parade onto the court at Sleep Train Arena with a chance to make a statement as they welcome last year's Western Conference champs, the Thunder. The Kings' young roster, led by center DeMarcus Cousins, will attempt to thwart the Thunder’s athletic squad with a fast-paced offensive attack, gritty defense, and the deafening roar of a restless fan base. During breaks in the action, lion mascot Slamson dishes out high-fives and antelope-hunting tips to up to 17,000 fans, and the Kings' dancers recall medieval jesters' delightful pop-and-lock routines.

Sacramento Kings

First known as the Rochester Royals, the Sacramento Kings' lineage dates back to the NBA's first seasons in the 1940s. They claimed the league title in 1951 and have made more than two dozen postseason appearances since, including a stretch from 1999 to 2006 in which they reached the playoffs every year. As a franchise, the Kings had several homes until the '85–'86 season, when they finally moved from Kansas City to Sacramento after years of slipping all over the court in their wet snow boots

The Groupon Guide to: Talking to Dogs

The mutual affinity between humans and dogs is often hampered by a natural language barrier. Fortunately, if spoken in an affectionate tone formerly reserved for babies, dogs are able to fully understand any of the following phrases:

  • “Whoosa good boy?”
  • “Go forra walk?”
  • “Thank you for that bird, but I don’t want that bird! Wanna go bury that bird? Who’s gonna go bury that bird?”
  • “Chew up this evidence of mail fraud! That’s my girl.”
  • “Wait a minute, who’s secretly been a dog-shaped pile of laundry this whole time? That’s right—YOU have!”

Can dogs really understand these phrases?
