As the American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers, the San Antonio Rampage enter the 2012–13 season following their first-ever trip to the Western Conference semifinals of the Calder Cup. Eager to improve upon their postseason exploits, the Rampage mobilize behind defenseman and team captain Nolan Yonkman. His postseason effort last spring netted a crucial game-winning goal against Chicago and nearly earned the team a chance to eat ice cream out of a sterling silver cup. Goalie Jacob Markstrom stifles offenses with his deft goaltending, and center Greg Rallo helms the offense with swift passes, speed-of-sound shots, and gentle camaraderie composed of deep, meaningful silence and smoldering eye contact.

San Antonio Rampage

As a franchise, the San Antonio Rampage has been around since the 1970s, and from 1979–1999, the team was known as the Adirondack Red Wings. The organization's modern incarnation finally skated onto American Hockey League ice in 2002, when it became the top-level affiliate of the Florida Panthers. In their decade-plus history—which includes a six-year stretch from 2005–2011 as the affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes—the Rampage have made three postseason appearances, highlighted by a trip to the Western Conference semifinals in 2011–12. The team plays its home games at the AT&T Center, where such off-the-ice entertainment as T-Bone the bull and the Ice Girls keep fans of all ages entertained while players break for tea.

Turn on the hot-water faucet.
Get the soap out of the hermetically sealed safe where you keep it so humidity won't cause it to burst into suds.
Once the water is hot enough to kill (and cook) a bug, plug the sink so it fills up.
Drop the soap in the full sink to make soapy water, or "clean soup," as it's often called.
Submerge your fingers in the water one at a time in order of filthiness. Repeat until your fingers have soaked up all the water, leaving the sink completely dry.
If you ever forget what to do, just remember the childhood hand-washing rhyme: "My fingers, my fingers are drinking clean soup/ My heavens, my heavens, it hurts."
