Guest conductor and multitalented musician James M. Stephenson, who is credited on more than 150 works, ascends the podium to lead the Southwest Florida Symphony through an evening of spirited Christmas tunes in its annual Holiday Pops performance. Mezzosoprano soloist Sara Dell’Omo from the U.S. Marine Band lends her buttery voice box to the concert’s set list of Yuletide jangles, which reacquaints listeners with holiday classics including “Santa Baby” and spotlights Stephenson’s original composition Timeless Treasures. Southwest Florida Symphony’s army of woodwinds, strings, and brass instruments cultivates a vivid wintry soundscape that crescendos through Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite, as well as festive sing-alongs such as “Here Comes Santa,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” and “I Asked for a Pony, Not a Sweater.”
