On Thursday, October 4, at 6 p.m., an international consortium of Asian-inspired entertainers, chefs, and spirit-makers gathers around TAO Beach’s Buddha-flanked pool for the Taste of TAO event. VIPs gain entry a full hour before general-admission ticketholders and enjoy exclusive benefits that include complimentary signature cocktails, a cooking demo in the art of sushi rolling, and a gift bag. A spread of sake courtesy of Ty-Ku, Kirin, Lucky Buddha, Singha, and Ashai await taste testing, and the culinary stations feature such dishes as peking duck, sushi and sashimi, thai curry, and a forest of skewered satays. Meanwhile, exotic entertainers such as Chinese Zodiac readers, fire- and fan-dancers, and henna-tattoo artists keep revelry in full bloom. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Three Square Food Bank.
