What You’ll Do
Sushi is as much an art form as it is a dinner dish. During Taste Buds Kitchen’s two-hour workshop, chefs teach the basics of curating flavors and sculpting aesthetically pleasing rolls to get students well on their way toward mastery.
Mix and Mingle
Sip wine or beer from home (glasses and bottle openers will be provided) while meeting the fellow students in your group.
Learn the Sushi Arts
At cooking stations with provided materials, chefs teach the techniques for cooking rice, slicing seafood, and rolling everything together into an artful dish.
Practice Makes Perfect
Make your own rolls and savor your creation, taking home any leftovers and your newfound skills.

When she was a child, Taste Buds Kitchen founder and “Chief Bud” Jessi Walter Brelsford learned that food and fun were synonymous in her family’s weekly “gourmet nights.” Today, in Taste Buds’ 750-square-foot training kitchen, more than 20 culinary pros carry on this tradition by bringing gourmet fun to kids and adults alike. While teaching proper cooking techniques, they lead pasta lessons, sushi classes, and other programs that have garnered praise from the likes of New York Magazine and the Wall Street Journal.
