Echoes of Pompeii
Echoes of Pompeii performing "Time" Live in December 2012
Named after Pink Floyd's legendary 1972 concert in Italy, Echoes of Pompeii recreates the sonic mind expansion and visceral enlightenment of a real Pink Floyd show. The nine-piece band specializes in playing Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety—from its riffs to its sound effects—naming "Breathe," "Money," and "Brain Damage" among their favorite tracks. Still, they love to play "Hey You" from The Wall, "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" from Wish You Were Here, and their eponymous "Echoes," a jam so long fans can finish an entire Bubble Tape before it ends. Echoes of Pompeii doesn't stop at the sounds though. An off-stage crew puts together classic Floydian stage props, a laser-light show, and psychedelic video projections that make the experience that much more brain-melting.
