In a Nutshell

Laugh-packed Wednesday night shows pair veteran headliners such as Pete Holmes and Maz Jobrani with up-and-coming comics

The Fine Print

Many standup comedians offer hilarious observations about everyday things, such as how men and women are different or why we should live in constant fear of the all-powerful sun's unchecked control over our feeble planet. Laugh away your worries with this GrouponLive deal to see a ComedyJuice standup show at the Hollywood Improv. Shows are held Wednesday at 10 p.m.; see the schedule for upcoming acts. Doors open at 9 p.m. Choose from the following options:

  • For $14, you get two general-admission tickets (a $28 value).
  • For $28, you get four general-admission tickets (a $56 value).
  • For $42, you get six general-admission tickets (an $84 value).

Maz Jobrani (January 30)

Hollywood Improv

At the Hollywood Improv, comics lure laughs from deep within bellies as they follow in the footsteps of standup legends such as Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, and Dave Chappelle, all of whom have graced the Improv club stages. The club's calendar schedules comedians as often as seven nights a week, alternating between big-name headliners and up-and-coming funsters who tickle funny bones with fresh material, abundant energy, and feathered reflex hammers.

The Groupon Guide to: Famous Haunted Attractions

Many historical landmarks claim to have undead residents, but none are so infamously haunted as these famous destinations:

Winchester Mystery House
Built: 1884–1922
The Ghastly Details: Construction of the maze-like Winchester mansion was overseen by the widow of the Winchester rifle's inventor so that the restless spirits killed by her husband's creation could have a place to crash after their own haunted houses were ordered by the mayor to be blown up with dynamite.

The Ludlow Lighthouse
Built: 1790
The Ghastly Details: Said to have a will of its own, the Ludlow Lighthouse willfully misguided countless ships onto its rocky banks, killing hundreds of seafarers—thus tethering their spirits to the macabre monument and necessitating that it be blown up with dynamite in 1995.

The Carousel of Souls
Built: 1909
The Ghastly Details: After a mule unexpectedly kicked over a kerosene lamp onto a pan of waffle oil, this carousel is the only surviving structure untouched by the Great World's Fair Fire of 1909. Some say that late at night you can still hear laughter, leading experts to recommend that this obviously possessed attraction be safely dynamited later this month.

What are the most haunted locations in America, and what can be done about them? Find out in today's Groupon Guide.
