The Piano Has Been Drinking (not me!)
Continuing its run after its initial sold-out performance, Artistic Pride Productions' The Piano Has Been Drinking (not me!) explores the relationship between artists and substance abuse. A revue of song, poetry, and theater celebrates stars who have overcome addiction, and honors those who were taken by it. The show explores the lives of such troubled icons as Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, and Jack Kerouac, while offering encouragement to audience members currently grappling with their own vices. A rotating cast of guest performers joins the cast, including singer Erica Jacob and off-Broadway vocalist Mara Jill Herman.
Artistic Pride Productions
Choreographer, performing artist, and member of NYC Rep and New Jersey Repertory Theater Anthony Wills Jr. coalesces his boundless interests into Artistic Pride Productions. As artistic director, he nurtures and guides the company’s innovative performers and creators, while building pieces that give voice to marginalized members of society. Artist Pride Productions’ regular Cabaret Series showcases its in-house talent in freewheeling shows that funnel a majority of the proceeds back to the performers, helping them support themselves or purchase clones to serve as their stunt doubles.
