The Scouting Report

As they pass the midpoint of their 7th season in Major League Soccer (MLS), Toronto FC's pursuit of highlight-worthy soccer continues at a torrid pace. In August, they'll look to gain ground in the standings with matches against the Seattle Sounders and Eastern Conference rivals the New England Revolution. They'll also test their mettle against iconic Italian club AS Roma during a much-anticipated international friendly. In addition to offensive workhorse Robert Earnshaw, fans can look forward to cheering on the team's young Canadian prospects who populate BMO Field's pitch.

Toronto FC

Though the Toronto FC franchise is young, especially compared to European clubs, the Reds have found success in Canada, winning the Amway Canadian Championship four years in a row from 2009 through 2012. Toronto FC's staff and athletes set out to do more than just compete against rival MLS clubs; they help the sport grow. Players and coaches both can be found teaching young athletes the ins and outs of competitive play in grassroots events and programs. BMO Field, which the Reds share with the Canadian National teams, is the first soccer-specific stadium in Canada.
