In a Nutshell

Thirty of Frank’s most heartfelt ballads and swinging tunes soar from quartet of performers who trade playful banter in high-energy show

The Fine Print

Tribute acts often eclipse their original subject, due to lack of ego, highly developed mimicry, and the high cost of disinterment. Catch a class act without a trip to the graveyard with this GrouponLive deal to see Shades of Sinatra, presented by Ray Wolf Productions at the Wolf Theater in the Clarion Hotel & Casino. Shows start at 8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Doors open at 7:40 p.m. Choose between the following options:

  • For $27, you get one VIP ticket with preferred seating (up to a $54.90 value, including fees).
  • For $99, you get four VIP tickets with preferred seating (up to a $219.60 value, including fees).

Shades of Sinatra salutes the music and myth of one of the nation’s most beloved entertainers in a dynamic revue filled with music, laughter, and history. Starring a quartet of bona fide singers who wring laughs and exhume smoky neon as they croon, the show charters the life of Ol’ Blue Eyes in a unique conceit, allowing four characters to interpret Frank’s legend through their eyes and larynxes. In solo showcases and rousing group numbers, each singer attacks Sinatra’s classics with epochal moxie in a set list stuffed with more than 30 ballads and swingers. In addition to the wealth of finger-popping ditties, Shades of Sinatra sees the quaternary of singers zinging each other in cuff-offing anecdotes and poignant remembrances about the man who always did it his way.

The Groupon Guide to: Writing a Classic Rock Song

No one has ever written a classic rock song that did not contain allusions to at least two of the following concepts:

  • Women in possession of at least two legs
  • The unrealistic expectations of a speed limit
  • A boy and a girl with the odds stacked against them, due to the fact that they live in a town or have parents
  • Lyrics that could conceivably be describing a car, a guitar, or a lady
  • Frequent reminders that rock 'n' roll exists and that you are currently listening to it
  • A part with no words that makes you close your eyes and envision a flickering candle
  • The working man

Which genre of music has the most songs about the working man?
