Without laughter, knock-knocks would only reveal door-to-door salesmen and the Tickle Monster would have to change his name to the “Socially Awkward Monster.” Revel in uninhibited laughs with this GrouponLive deal to see a comedy show at Yuk Yuk's. For $20, you get two general-admission tickets to any regular show between Tuesday, January 1, and Tuesday, April 30 (up to a $40 value). Upcoming schedules will be posted online as they are finalized. See the schedule for the Elgin location here and the Prescott location here.

Since their Toronto location opened in 1976, Yuk Yuk's has been a collective launching pad for such comedy heavyweights as Jim Carrey, Rick Moranis, and Russell Peters. Yuk Yuk’s Ottawa stages make way for oncoming stampedes of funny people, filling weekends with uproarious laughs and tongue-tickling cocktails. Though the schedule is ever-changing, recent performers have included Nick Beaton, whose good-natured delivery puts a sugarcoating on jaundiced rants on topics including late-night infomercials, and Scott Faulconbridge, who draws on his improv background during free-flowing sets about such indignities as shopping at Ikea.
