Questions and Answers
It says it expires 8/21/09 and that you need to make reservations 30 days in advance… but then further down in the explanation it says the coupon is good for 1 year. What?
ah, nevermind, it’s good til 2010…
is this deal for one person?

Hey San Francisco! Chris from Groupon here.
Laura – I just talked to Gold Rush and unfortunately the $90 cannot be applied as a credit for one of the other trips like Middle Fork or Kaweah. Apparently the South Fork tour has jealousy issues.
Jody – the Groupon is for one person, but obviously the tours fit more, so round up a posse.

What trip is this for then? Or does it just get applied to the costs of others?

Sorry – wish I could delete that! I can read :)
can i use more than one groupon per trip? if there are four of us that want to ride, can i buy 4 groupons and redeem them at the same time?
Is this for a full day or half day rafting? Also, if everyone in the group presents their groupon, is that OK? Thanks!

Sarah J – the trip is for the Lower section of the South Fork American, commonly called The Gorge Run. Something tells me you already figured that out :)
Rene – You, personally, can only use one Groupon per trip. But you could buy four Groupons for you and three friends no problem. Share the love!
Sarah H – According to Gold Rush it starts around noon and finishes around 5pm – check it out at http://www.goldrushriver.com/trips.cfm. And, yes its ok for each member in the group to use a Groupon :)
Their website lists $85 per person for 1 Day Lower Sun-Friday trip, not $90.

I’ve noticed such errors/discrepancies/mistakes/false advertising, whatever you wanna call it, on the Groupons previously. Groupon people, please do things right! Or, make sure the provider’s website has no conflicting information- makes the Groupon people look dishonest…
Hi Peeps, this is Tym from Gold Rush Whitewater Rafting!
You can use as many Groupons per trip as you want, One Groupon/Each Person.
The Groupon is for the South Fork American Lower Gorge Run, just over 10-Miles in length and about 3.5-4 hrs. long. Trip Showup Time is 1pm, finishing around 5-5:30pm.
Reservations do not HAVE to be 30-Days in advance, but trips can ONLY be booked based on availability of space.
Just call or email us about your preferred trip date and more than likely we can make it work for you.
Trips will go through September, we end in October. Trips will resume in April 2010.
Hi Facebook User, the price of $85/p DOES NOT INCLUDE COUNTY & STATE FEES/TAXES, but the Groupon Price DOES!!!
With the County and State Fees/Taxes, pricing is actually $93/person for the same trip.

Facebook User – I agree, we dont like the errors either! That’s why these discussion boards are so great – it turns us into content ninjas. We try to find all the discrepancies that surface and chop them to bits! Thanks Gold Rush for clearing up the pricing detail :)
So if I am purchasing two coupons in this, can those two be used in the same trip (two different people using that of course), or do I need to make them log in as a different user on here and purchase their ticket in a different transaction? Thanks for clarifying…

Christina – Yes, two Groupons can be used by two different people on the same trip. And, yes, you can buy them both.
do $40 include all the necessary equipment and clothing? or is it only the cost of the trip???
Ainur, the Groupon Price of $50/person, includes “Necessary Equipment” and hopefully you will be wearing your own clothes that day!
It also includes transportation WITHIN that trip, in other words, you just need to make it to our Campground on the River, we will take care of transportation after that to get you back to the Campground at the end of the trip.
ALSO, to confirm, the Trip Meet Time is 1:00pm!!!
1:00pm Showup Time…. 12pm is ONLY if you reserve Lunch with us, any meals are additional in cost, as is Camping at our Riverside Campground.
Showers are FREE, especially for those who need it…WiFi is available for FREE as well. Water will be provided during the trip and Sodas/Waters will be available at the end of the trip as well.
How are the water levels now?
Water Levels are Consistent and confirmed through the month of September.
This River is “Dam-Controlled”, so the Water is Released at a consistent rate and per Schedule each day.
In other words…the Water Levels/Release is the same ALL Summer long through the month of September.
Hi Tym and Chris,
I’ve been having trouble booking my trip. I called two weekends ago, made a reservation, and was told that I’d be receiving invoices in the mail – for which I should send back my groupons for full payment. However, I haven’t received these invoices, and have tried contacting Gold Rush again both via email and phone (left a message) but w/o success. The reservation date was for Sunday, Sept. 27th for a b-day celebration, and I just want to make sure we’re all set for the adventure.
Please let me know how I should proceed.
Thanks,
Lisa
Hi Groupon,
I’ve called the company approximately 8 times and left 6 messages (twice, there was no room on the machine for messages). I have not received any calls back and am skeptical that I will be able to use my Groupons by the August 21, 2010 date. Please either contact Goldrush to call me back and get a reservation or refund my Groupons. Thanks!
Hey guys, so Goldrush called me back after I asked you to contact them and I needed a week or so to get our schedules. We decided on Aug 8. I’d really like to use my 12 Groupons but again, Goldrush is not responding to voicemail. Could you please call and get someone to contact me and/or book a reservation for 12 on August 8? Thanks.

Alpana – Im on it :)
Sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone, but we are in HIGH booking season now and prioritizing the trips that are coming up first within the next 2 weeks.
Alpana…patience… ;)
Chris from Groupon – I was just reading through this to prep myself for my upcoming trip. Love your comments – and your ability to be bright and fun even when the users/groupon-ers are irritable.
I, too, was initially frustrated by the delayed responses from the rafting company. I’m guessing their strength is navigating rapids and that they’re still working on getting the administrative part down. Can’t wait for my first ever rafting trip!!
Thanks Vanessa! We were NOT expecting such a busy Summer so soon!
Usually we don’t get busy till Mid-July, but this year we’ve been busy since the beginning of Mid-May!
Our Number One Focus is the Raft Trip for sure…and all the Logistics that go with it.
Thanks for having patience…it’ll be worth it… ;)

Can the $90 be applied as a credit for one of the other trips like Middle Fork or Kaweah?
