On Saturday, July 21, racers meet at Hard Rock Cafe at 9:30 a.m. to prepare for the 11 a.m. challenge. They receive a clue packet and map leading them off in all four directions within a 3- to 5-mile radius. At each destination a challenge awaits, such as dipping hands into an unidentified substance to fish out a clue, taking a photo with an object, serenading a stranger, or making funny faces. After solving 10 of 12 clues before the 2 p.m. deadline, participants race to the finish line to enjoy food specials, entertainment, and a possible cash prize. In addition to the obstacle race, participants can enter the costume contest for an additional chance to win cash prizes.

Gorilla Challenge

Not many events can combine puzzles, obstacle races, and charitable giving-all while filling the downtown area with people in gorilla suits. Gorilla Challenge accomplishes all of these things in a single afternoon. With annual events held across the country, it is quickly becoming the premier event for raising fun and social responsibility. Several of the event's clues are designed to bring awareness to topics such as literacy, poverty, environmental concerns, animal welfare, and elder care. Amid these consciousness-raising events, the company's gorilla-suit-clad staffers make surprise appearances to award participants prizes and collect bribes in the form of fresh bananas or sign-language-speaking kittens.

The Groupon Guide to: Ironic Wish Fulfillment

Whether you’re a genie, a devil, or a billionaire, eventually you will use your power to use someone’s deepest desires to punish them. Here are some tips to make sure you get it right:

If they wish for:
A Billion Dollars
Grant them:
A billion-dollar life-insurance check from their favorite dog/soulmate’s insurance policy

If they wish for:
Incredible Guitar Ability
Grant them:
Incredible guitar ability because the music biz is all about connections and politics not talent. It’s such a load of bull. Songs don’t have any heart anymore.

If they wish for:
World Peace
Grant them:
World peace that has been fostered by the entire world’s mutual hatred of [person who made the wish].

If they wish for:
A Long and Happy Life
Grant them:
A long and happy life, but in a really passive-aggressive way that lets them know you didn’t really want to do it.

If they wish for:
More Wishes
Grant them:
The ability to wish for whatever they want WHILE THEY BURN IN THE SUN’S CORE.

Is there a way to win at wishes?
