Gracie Barra Penticton

Master Carlos Gracie, Jr. founded the Gracie Barra Association—which now encompasses more than 300 Brazilian jiu-jitsu schools—to aid students in developing their understanding of the art beyond simple competition. His schools teach not only combative techniques, but a four-pillared philosophy which instructors and students embrace: brotherhood, cooperation, discipline, and respect.

The instructors work with other trainers to expand the class repertoire beyond jiu-jitsu, offering women's kickboxing, muay thai, strength training, and kid's classes. Each teacher brings a long history of competitive expertise in the subject they teach and bears a high-ranking belt in the art of jiu-jitsu, with Mr. Reichenbach possessing a brown belt himself. The facility they teach in consists of a series of open training areas, which rely upon big floor-to-ceiling windows and glow-in-the-dark teachers for light.

The Groupon Guide to: The Fun Photograph

Everyone knows that after three normal group photos, the fourth is “the fun one.” In this photo, you can really cut loose and show some personality. Here are some Groupon-approved “fun one” moves:

Stick Two Fingers behind Guy’s Head: Shows you are playful and fun and haven’t forgotten that he had to have surgery to remove those fingers growing out of his head

Touch Your Own Eyeball: This one’s for all the tough guys. You don’t care about nothin’, you eye-touching cowboy.

Stick Out Your Tongue: There are no kings or doctors here. Go nuts!

Kick a Model Train Set: My uncle was actually mad about his life, not being silly, but the picture came out great.

Put a Little Cowboy Hat over Your Belly Button but Don’t Tell Anyone: This is just for you.

Is it OK to touch your own eyeball? Find out in today’s Groupon Guide.
