$30 for a 5K-Charity-Run Entry for One ($60 Value)

On Sunday, March 10, runners will swarm the Parks Convention Center Office / Woodward Regional Park for the Graffiti Run. Armed with a race T-shirt, headband, and color packet, runners dash, dance, prance, and skip along the 5K course with the goal of finishing in the most fun and most colorful way possible. Children aged 5 or younger can run free with a parent.

The first wave begins at 9 a.m., and groups of 500 runners will be released every 20 minutes afterward until everyone has had time to enter the course; runners should arrive by 8 a.m. to get ready. After the race, runners can stop by air-blown cleaning stations to remove some of the loose color powder, though most people also bring towels to protect their car seats on the ride home. Proceeds from the race benefit local charities.

Graffiti Run

The creators of Graffiti Run use the term “run” very loosely. Less of a race, and more a celebration of the human spirit, the Graffiti Run encourages participants to dash, dance, prance, skip, cartwheel, or walk the course as they douse each other in vibrant hues that span the full spectrum. Each run also donates a portion of proceeds to a local charity, which range from Special Olympics affiliates and scholarship funds to city cleanup and beautification projects.
