William, There isn't a way to substitute the deluxe kit for the basic kit. Since the basic kit is such a screaming good deal, the best to upgrade is to buy the additional items separately.

The best way to obtain the items in the Deluxe kit is to purchase them separately. We are unable to switch out the brewing equipment kits for Groupon buyers.
