Horses are our superiors in every way, which is why we’re so lucky that they allow us the courtesy of riding all about on their supple yet strong horse backs. Deepen the human-horse bond with this Groupon.
Choose From Three Options
- $625 for enrollment for one in the one-week overnight horse-riding camp for girls (a $1,250 value)
- $25 for a trail ride for two (a $50 value)
- $25 for a summer day lesson for one child (a $50 value) <p>
During the overnight riding camp, up to 25 girls spend time not only riding the horses and mastering basic skills, but also learning about grooming, horse nutrition, equipment, and handling. Additionally, they’ll get first-hand experience with chickens and cows, gardening, canning, sewing, and creating recipes and cooking meals from scratch. Swimming, biking, games, and field trips are also organized, and each girl will have the opportunity to participate in two riding shows where they’ll get the chance to demonstrate their skills. Trail rides take pairs on leisurely strolls through the grounds, and day lessons teach youths about basic horse care and riding skills. Students should bring a lunch, swimsuit, and towel.
Great Northern Riding Club
Surrounded by tall trees, the lush grasses and groomed arenas of Great Northern Riding Club look like a paradise conjured up from the imagination of Black Beauty himself. Kimberly Jo Simac, the head trainer there, has more than 25 years of equine experience under the belt of her breeches, and puts it to use during interactions with both horses and students. Each summer, trainers welcome girls for overnight camps and kids ages 7 and older for daytime lessons that culminate in a refreshing swim.
