A banked cycling track hosts novices as they learn the basics in an introductory clinic or prepare for actual races on the course
Since cheetah-shoes don't yet exist and a tree stump with a saddle on it is hopelessly immobile, bicycles remain the best way to tour a city. See the sights in two-wheeled fashion with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $30 for either a Learn to Ride clinic for two people, or two clinics—Learn to Ride and Learn to Race—for one person (a $70 value) $17 for a Learn to Ride clinic for one person (a $35 value)
During two-hour clinics, students learn to apply their existing skills to the unique terrain and rules of track cycling. A necessary course for all riders at the GVVA track, the Learn to Ride clinic covers the basics of the sport while introducing riders to the banked surface. After taking the Learn to Ride class, students can matriculate into the Learn to Race clinic, which expands upon the training to include starts, pacing, and etiquette. Upon completion of the Learn to Race class, graduates may then participate in the regular Monday Sprint series or Thursday Bunch races. Both courses include a rental track bike and a one-year membership to the association.
