Choose from Four Options

  • $32 for one soap-making class (a $65 value)
  • $60 for two soap-making classes (a $130 value)
  • $45 for one soap-making class and one lotion-making class (a $100 value)

View the class calendar here. Soap-making classes last two–three hours, during which instructor Donna guides students through the process of crafting their own 1-pound loaf of soap, which equals seven or eight bars, which they take home along with an instruction book. The two-and-a-half-hour lotion class sends pupils home with organic oil- and herb-infused emollients.

Green Lotus Organics

Green Lotus Organics's in-house artisan Donna McGee draws on wisdom gleaned from years as a soap maker, herbalist, and aromatherapist to whip up gentle skin remedies. McGee emphasizes the skin’s habit of absorbing the serums slathered on it, and thus strives to nourish skin with nutrient-rich, natural, organic ingredients. Acolytes can expect to craft soaps and lotions with wild-harvested ingredients, such as chamomile, calendula, and moon rocks. With an average class size of six, students enjoy plenty of student-teacher interaction. Workshops emphasize hands-on instruction, empowering students to craft their own serums, rather than wait on instructors or outsource to unemployed Rube Goldberg machines. McGee invites students to call her with any lingering questions about new techniques and even grants a repeat class free of charge if students don’t feel sufficiently empowered to craft solo.

Green Lotus Studios

Green Lotus Studios' professorial artisans are soap makers, herbalists, and aromatherapists who teach classes in their fields of expertise. Acolytes can expect to craft soaps and lotions with wild-harvested ingredients, make their own kombucha or cheese, or whip up flu-battling herbal stews. With an average class size of six, students enjoy plenty of student-teacher interaction. Workshops emphasize hands-on instruction to empower students to craft their own serums, rather than wait on instructors or outsource to unemployed Rube Goldberg machines.
