Recreational family outings can help children with chronic illnesses and physical disabilities learn to cope with psychological challenges and bodily changes, and can affect how they perceive themselves and how well their parents and siblings cope with their own challenges. Camp John Marc organizes year-round camping experiences to bolster the spirits of children with chronic illnesses and physical disabilities and their families.
Camp John Marc sponsors scholarships to provide these families a temporary respite in the form of an outdoor weekend bonding experience. Situated in Bosque County, Texas, the camp sits on 170 acres of natural expanse encompassing an 8-acre lake and fishing pier, treehouse-themed camping areas, and nature trails. Families stay in duplex-style two-bedroom lodges equipped with kitchenettes and fire pits. Fully accessible summer-camp-style group activities, such as fishing and pottery, combine with individual breakout sessions so that families dealing with illnesses and disabilities can meet and talk with other families in similar situations.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help provide an outdoor camp experience for the family of a child with a chronic illness or physical disability. If G-Team members raise $400, Camp John Marc can sponsor a weekend camp for a family of four. Each additional $100 raised will fund a weekend of camp for another family member.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
