FACT (Family, Adult & Child Therapies) cares for children and adults with autism by hosting family support groups, individual and couples therapy, and programs designed to ease the transition into productive, independent lives. Geared for recent high-school graduates, FACT's GAP program assists young adults with autism as they explore possible career paths or college education.
Students enrolled in the GAP program attend a full semester at Santa Monica College, receiving individual attention from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. five days per week and assistance with signing up for classes and extracurricular activities. GAP program attendees also gain opportunities to work at local companies and volunteer with AmeriCorps or the Red Cross, based on their preferences. The emphasis on each student making choices for him or herself helps enrollees to gain important personal and social skills for independent living later in life. By the program's end, students find themselves in greatly improved positions to secure stable long-term employment.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help FACT bolster skills in students with autism. If G-Team members raise $500, then FACT can provide one week of its GAP program to a student with autism at no cost. Each additional $10 raised will provide another week of the GAP program to the same student.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings."
