Despite some misconceptions to the contrary, music therapy can provide myriad benefits for individuals with hearing impairments. The Hearing School of the Southwest plans to start a children's music program for its students, who are deaf or hearing impaired and have cochlear implants or hearing aids.
Experiencing the different sounds of musical instruments can help those with hearing impairments to improve language development and speech production. Through its proposed music program, The Hearing School of the Southwest plans to expose its students to music in a variety of activities including classroom performances by guest musicians, a keyboard and set of rhythm sticks and bells available for students to play, and field trips to music events for children with cochlear implants.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help hearing-impaired and deaf children improve their communication skills and language development through music. If G-Team members raise $400, then the Hearing School of the Southwest can start its children's music program with classroom instruments, guest performances, and field trips. Each additional $200 raised will fund a class field trip to a music event or an in-class musical guest performance.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings."
