Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) provides families who have limited access to fresh produce and full-service grocery stores with healthy, fresh grocery items five days a week. Each month, SFBFS serves more than 15,000 individuals in the community with fresh dairy products, vegetables, and fruits.
Through its food program, SFBFS provides fresh groceries donated from local grocery stores, farmers, and community members, in addition to free screenings for health problems linked to poor nutrition. The organization’s food-distribution model mirrors an open-air famers market, where individuals can see and select produce, ask questions, enjoy samples, and obtain seasonal recipes.
Join G-Team and donate $13 to help SFBFS provide families in need with boxes of healthy food. If G-Team members raise $520, then SFBFS can provide a food box to 40 families of four. Each food box will contain enough food to provide the recipient family with three healthy meals a day for four days, and will contain 20 nonperishable items, two fruits, three grains, four or five dairy items, and eight produce items. Each additional $13 raised will provide one food box for another family of four.
