The Fine Print

The Sacramento Youth Symphony encourages youth to excel in the arts by providing them with a challenging repertoire, education in musical theory, and the opportunity to perform with the full symphony orchestra. The 85-member ensemble plans to share its musical talents with the community at a free holiday concert on December 4 at 1 p.m. in the Central Library Galleria of the Sacramento Public Library.

During the show, junior virtuosos will play classic holiday tunes to connect with their community through service and steward holiday cheer. The library space can accommodate at least 400 community members for the concert, which will culminate in a finale conducted by a young audience member. The symphony still needs additional funding to cover the costs of transporting instruments, renting out the venue, and producing the concert.

Join G-Team and donate $10 to help fund a free community concert. If G-Team members raise $500, then the Sacramento Youth Symphony can fund the transportation, venue, and production costs to perform a free holiday concert at the Sacramento Public Library. Each additional $10 raised will go toward funding a scholarship for a child from a low-income family to participate in the symphony.
