I wanted to make sure this was for ANY project? I thought I saw on the Chase website that this was to be directed toward STEM projects. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.) Thanks.

I didn't see the "Applicable for projects in the following states" link until after I already had brought the groupon. So because my state is not on this list, I am not able to use it for a project in my state (MD)?

Hi Casey! Chase is providing a generous donation of $500K to provide the 400% match on all the Groupons sold. You would make them super happy by using it to fund a project in one of their target areas but you're welcome to apply it on projects in other areas after redeeming your code.

I really want to do this but am so confused! On the purchase page, it is asking for "Donor's Full Name". I am guessing this is MY name and not the project I am choosing...???

I teach in Connecticut and would love to fun a project at my school. Would Chase match the donation in COnnecticut? Also will this donation also be matched by Donors Choose Dollar for Dollar Matching Campaign?

Hi Allison - Chase raised $500K from select areas and would love to channel these funds back into these communities. For this reason they are strongly encouraging Groupon redemptions in the states mentioned. After entering your gift code and selecting one of the participating states, you can fund one of the projects listed from that state or choose to fund a project from a different location of your choice. In your case, you can apply your funds to your project in CT. Regarding the Friends and Family matching, that is for credit card donations only, starting next week. I just purchased 5 groupons at one time, not realizing the limitations. I had one particular project in mind for all groupons. My question is ....will I be able to apply all 5 groupons to that one project?

Hi Lisa. Absolutely! You can certainly apply 5 codes on the same project! You'll have to enter the codes one at at time, but then you'll be set on helping make a teacher's wish for his/her class come true!

Do I need to redeem the Groupon and spend the $50 by the February expiration date, or can I redeem and keep the credits in my account for use after February?

Hi Lindsay! Once any portion of your Groupon is applied to a DonorsChoose.org project, the balance will be placed into your account as credits. Account credits are available to you for 30 days by default. Expired credits always get applied to projects in need by our staff. Thanks for your question.

I love this Groupon!! I have a couple questions... Does the 400% price match mean that if I buy a $10 Groupon and donate the $50 to a project of my choice that the project will actually receive $200? Because there is a cap of the price match at $500,000 will the Groupons that are redeemed first be the ones to receive that match? How long does it take from initiation for a teacher to get a project "live" and able to accept money? Thanks so much!!

Hi Jennifer, thanks for your great questions! Chase's 400% match is on the $10 Groupon (so for every $10 Groupon, they are generously matching it 400% or $40). So every $10 Groupon + Chase's $40 match = a $50 DonorsChoose.org donation. Regarding your second question, DonorsChoose.org performs a number of actions to ensure "end to end" integrity on every student project. The first step is project review, where trained volunteers screen each project before it is posted to ensure that the teacher has selected the correct materials and included the necessary information to accurately represent his/her project and engage donors. It typically takes 5 days for a teacher to submit a project to be approved. Thanks again for your question and your support!

"Limit 2/person, may buy 3 addl as gifts." - If I want to buy five (2+3) must I purchase each one individually? I don't see a pulldown giving me the choice to purchase 1 or 2 for myself. Thank you.

If you want the Groupon to show the recipient's name you can click on the blue "Give it as a Gift" link on the deal page. Each purchase would need to be made separately so you can fill out each recipient's name. Or you can purchase the Groupons all at once by clicking the "Buy!" button, and the Groupons will appear under your name.
