Glass can be exquisite in its myriad forms, from the ornate windows of a Gothic cathedral to the crystalline webbing of a freshly vandalized windshield. Reflect on beauty with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $69 for a blow-your-own-tumbler class for one (up to a $150 value)
  • $139 for a blow-your-own-tumbler class for two (up to a $300 value)

Students shape and color their own vessels in this beginner-friendly class. Once it is hot enough and the color is melted in, the material is blown into a textured mold and placed on the punty—the iron rod—to finish off the lip. The piece can then be picked up the next day at the shop, shipped for $10 to most locations in the United States, or directly conjured into the home by students who are also wizards.

Half Moon Bay Art Glass

Formerly known as Colquhoun Glass Works, the seeds of Half Moon Bay Art Glass were sown in 1977 when artist Douglass Colquhoun Brown stepped off a tall ship in the English Channel. Discovering the art of etched glass in France, Brown became instantly smitten with the craft, and vowed to learn it upon his return to the states. After honing his skills creating scientific glassware for Silicon Valley, the artist expanded into more decorative objects such as jelly fish lamps, orchids, and seasonal glass pumpkins ideal for the jack-o-lantern-averse. Brown is eager to share his love for the fragile medium with others, leading glass-blowing classes suitable for first-timers of all ages, 13 and up.

The Groupon Guide to: Monster Weaknesses

Everyone knows that the world is plagued with real monsters, from bullying to illiteracy—but the world is also plagued by even realer monsters, from vampires to swampmen. Fortunately, you can defeat any beast real or imagined with this list of their monster weaknesses:

Monster: Werewolves
Weakness: Silver. Although silver bullets are a traditional means of felling the feral beast, blindly chucking your grandmother’s jewelry into the forest will poison their habitat for generations.

Monster: Vampires
Weakness: Wooden Steak. The vampires will foolishly bite into the delicious-looking “steak,” thus breaking off their fangs and rendering them helpless.

Monster: Zombies
Weakness: Your Friend Who Has a Goatee. He has been training his whole life for this moment. Time to shine, Zachary.

What are some surprising ways to defeat a werewolf?
