It includes tax!
If I was going to be down that way I’d do it.
Can we use the Groupon at the Wells location?
Never mind — I just saw the fine print.
The The Cara Program Online Auction link does not work, I get an error message “the page does not exist”
tlatuszek,
Thanks for catching that, we fixed it.
The write-up mentions gluten-free options but I didn’t see that on their menu. Do they have gluten-free bread here? Thanks!
Arrrrgh, this is crap. I’d never make it to the one on Michigan because it closes at 5…damn workin’ in the suburbs.
HB is my favorite :(

Hannah’s is the best.
Hi Lindsay…this is Scott from Hannah’s.
All our sandwiches are available on gluten-free bread. Just inform our über sandwich makers when ordering. Please allow an extra 5 min or so for preparation.
Thanks!
That’s great! Thanks so much for letting me know!
What is the time frame for having use the groupon? (When) Does it expire?
Oops. Nevermind. I see. In April.
Gabriel: 4/14/2010 is expiration.

Bummer that it’s no good at the Washington Street location; that’s the only one I’d use since Michigan Ave is too far away and closes too early. Too badl so sad.
doh, not available at the one by me. i’m near scott. i’ll make the trip to michigan though.. sometime between now and the close of the deal
Do we have to use the whole groupon in one visit or can I buy one sandwich one day and come back the next and get another with what’s left on my groupon?
Trying to unfollow this… lol
Sus, this is Scott from Hannah’s.
You must get both of your sandwiches during the same visit.
Scott~
I am addicted to Hannah’s and I think it is the best Sandwich shop in Chicago. May I buy 10 groupon’s before the deadline and use them for different visits before these april expiration deadline? Or is it it one coupon per customer lifetime? Also, is the coupone accepted at the Hannah’s in the pedway of the Illinois Center?
Hi Sean…glad to hear you’re a fan. With Groupon, we look forward to welcoming more customers to our brand.
You can purchase multiple Groupons and redeem them during different visits. However, you can only redeem ONE (1) Groupon per visit.
This Groupon is only valid at our 233 N. Michigan location (pedway of the IL Center).

looks delish…I am gonnu try one.

I got five. I’m blaming any weight gain between now and April 2010 on Hannah! :)
I still haven’t gotten my groupon…WTF?
Brandon, I was just informed by Groupon that there was a glitch on their end and no one received their Groupon this morning.
I’m told it will be corrected shortly.

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for getting your Groupon for Hannah’s Bretzel yesterday! We received a wonderfully overwhelming response for this Groupon and as a result we’re running a bit slower than usual processing these orders and getting your Groupons sent out. I understand many of you were planning on using your Groupon right away—we apologize for the inconvenience this delay may have caused. I assure you we are working to process all of these orders as quickly as we can and will have your Groupons to you a bit later this afternoon. Remember, you have until April 14th to use your Groupon – no fear, the Über Sandwich Makers will be happy to accept your Groupon up until then!
Sincerely,
Kelly Messer
Your Groupon Support :)

Thanks for the update, Kelly and Scott. It’s a great deal and your site/service is excellent, you’re more than allowed to have a glitch here and there. :)
I totally love Hannah’s Bretzels. Seriously, please come out to the suburbs! (Esp. Oak Park!)

I still have not received my Groupon? when will i receive it? THANKS!
Note to self: never surf groupon when I’m extremely hungry – it could prove devastating to my food budget!
.
I love their sandwiches, when can we have this deal again from them?
I also love their Chai Latte!!
I used my Hannah’s Bretzel groupon yesterday (11/11/09). Couldn’t have been easier! Ordered 2 sandwiches and handed the certificate to the cashier for payment. No additional tax and no hassle. The food was delicious.
This is a great Groupon offer and has allowed me to introduce friends and coworkers to Hannah’s Bretzel. However, on today’s visit I was informed the side item (almonds, soynuts, or chips) that normally comes with a retail price sandwich is NOT included with the Groupon offer.
I know the Groupon is a very generous deal given the quality of ingredients that goes into a sandwich, but I felt a bit insulted because the Groupon offer specifically referred to savings off the retail price and nowhere on the offer does it state that the complimentary side that comes with a regular price sandwich is not included.
Any clarification is appreciated!
Thanks!
When I got my bretzels, which were super delicious and satisfying, they came with choice of chips/soy beans/almonds.

I’ve also been given the choice of roasted veggies, and both of my visits included one side per sandwich.
Me too – until yesterday’s visit. Any clarification appreciated!
Hi Darren,
The Groupon is for any two sandwiches (no sides). This has been communicated to our staff to avoid any confusion in the future.
Thank you for visiting Hannah’s and I hope you’ll continue to return after this promotion has run its course.

Fair enough – but it makes the retail price comparison on the original Groupon offer inaccurate (because a sandwich without sides does not have a retail price), and it also sets expectations unfairly to change the offering of sides midway through the Groupon redemption period (note on my previous visits and the other two posters received complimentary sides).
That said, I can’t complain about a fantastic offer, just am struggling a bit to see the logic of implementing a limitation that wasn’t clearly communicated. It would have made more sense for the original Groupon offer to clearly state that sides have an extra cost.
I’ll ask Groupon to comment on this thread.
Darren,
I understand your point of view and appreciate it. I have talked with our staff here at the store and we will make sure all Groupon customers receive a complimentary side. It was communicated clearly from day one and that isn’t fair to you (or any other customer).
We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you again in the future. Next time you’re in the store, please say hello.
-Scott
Scott, now that’s GREAT customer service.
Thanks for being so present and visible and dealing with customer suggestions in such a timely manner. A+++!
i am new to groupon… can i still get this deal? if yes, how?

Just visited HB for the first time today and I’m a bit annoyed, despite the delicious sandwich. This is a pricey place at $9 a sandwich, (I’m trying to save $$, and thus; Groupon) and I took a friend to lunch expecting to use my groupon. She unexpectedly orders the 1/2 sand/ cup of soup ($8.99) and I order a full reg sandwich ($8.99) only to be told that I couldn’t use my Groupon because the groupon states 2 sandwiches.
Really, HB? Really? You’re going to be that particular? Why? In addition, you’re making MORE $$ since soup is a bigger profit center. Annoyed. Big time. So, like a schmuck, I dole out $20. In addition, I ordered the parma ham w/ goat cheese (it was very good) and the girl behind me in line got it with brie- and I ended up with the brie. It was later fixed.
The whole thing kind of left a bad taste in my mouth, figurativelly. I’ll use my groupon later, but I can’t say I’ll go back after that.

As I do not work downtown, I tried to use this on pone of my rare trips to the city on a Sunday only to find that they are not open on the weekend!!!!!! Can I return these, or is there anyone who can buy them from me???

They expire 04/14/2010 . . . I’d buy it from you, tho, since I’m downtown and should be able to make it to Hannah’s. Since it’s only a little over a month before it expires, how much would you want? How many do you have?
Send me an e-mail off this list to stuff <at> pinkpank.com (use @!).
Emily – Read the fine print about ANY Groupon deal. Your annoyance is your own fault for inattention.
As for HB and this Groupon. My review…
It would have been nice if it had been listed somewhere that lunch is only served between certain hours. True, the downloaded menu shows that breakfast is served until 10am, but there are no “lunch menu items served only after ___” statements. To get any bang for your buck, it isn’t worth it to order from the breakfast menu. And with HB’s hours closing at 5pm and no weekends, for those of us that don’t work near the ONE location and don’t get off work until AFTER 5pm, this ended up struggling hard to fit into the “win” column. I left an hour early to get there in the morning before work only to be told, “Sorry, not serving lunch yet”. Are you kidding me?
I basically had to take an extra long lunch break on the days I wanted to cash in my groupon and pay bus fare both ways. Add $5 in travel for time and location inconvenience plus income not paid during extra time away from work.
The food quality was good, but $ wise, I think this one actually cost me. I’d have just skipped it, but I’d already bought the groupons with the plan to have purchased in morning prior to work, and hated the thought of just throwing money away. The extra cost I guess I’ll just think of as my fee for getting to be away from the office on a nice Chicago afternoon.
In all? Meh. I’d rather ride my bike to the W. Washington location during Saturday hours than buy into this groupon choice ever again.

Jennifer,
I woulda bought that Groupon from you . . . :) But yeah, the hours are limited. I live and work within 7 blocks of 233 N. Michigan and I love to walk, so it worked out for me – but I woulda enjoyed taking friends on a weekend. I’m guessing the cost and client base at this location simply made weekend or evening hours prohibitive. I bought 5 plus two I purchased from Bianca (above). Everyone I’ve taken to Hannah’s has been pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and freshness of the ingredients, so they’ve gained at least five fans through this deal!
Scott has been very nice and patient through this ordeal, too. I was amazed when I saw that the Groupon numbers weren’t in 100% numerical order – it looks like quite a PITA to mark these off one at a time. I used my last one yesterday.

Do we have to pay tax when we go to redeem the groupon? Or is this all taken into account with the $9?
