In a Nutshell

Licensed acupuncturist alleviates pain and promotes wellness with holistic practices rooted in ancient Chinese medicine

Acupuncture needles are different than sewing needles, in that they are much tinier and can't be used to attach patches of fake fur to a T-shirt. Feel the difference with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $59 for an initial consultation and two acupuncture treatments with cupping or gua sha therapy (a $165 value)
  • $109 for an initial consultation and four acupuncture treatments with cupping or gua sha therapy (a $315 value)

A licensed acupuncturist inserts sterile needles into the body during acupuncture sessions; these needles work to stimulate the flow of energy and promote overall wellness. Both options include cupping or gua sha treatments. Cupping is an ancient Chinese pain-relief practice in which cups create a gentle suctioning force on the skin to mobilize blood flow. Gua sha features a rounded instrument that is applied up and down the back and shoulders to stimulate blood flow and circulation.

Healing Point Acupuncture

Licensed acupuncturist Sheila O'Brien founded Healing Point Acupuncture as a means of putting her knowledge of ancient Chinese medicine into practice. Though the needles she uses in her acupuncture treatments are finely pointed, her well-rounded background in Oriental medicine helps first-time clients feel more at ease.

With certifications in addiction therapy and craniosacral therapy, O'Brien hardly limits herself to acupuncture. She performs holistic treatments such as cupping and gua sha healing both at her office and in clients' homes as part of her mobile practice. She often combines these techniques to help her clients overcome physical and emotional ailments or unhealthy behaviors such as smoking, gambling, or crying loudly on commuter trains.

The Groupon Guide to: Valentine's Day Leftovers

For some people, the most difficult thing about Valentine's Day is deciding what to do with all the leftovers. Here are some suggestions of what to do with the day-after detritus:

  • Melt down chocolates and put them in little ghost-shaped molds to start stocking up for Halloween.

  • Once roses start to wilt and dry out, use their thorns to make devil horns for a naughty dog or precocious toddler.

  • Diamond shavings are glitter.

  • Recycle a Valentine's Day card by crossing out the part that says "Lisa, I will always love you. You are my angel and my strength" and writing "Deepest sympathies on the anniversary of your terrible comeuppance!"

  • Leftover candy hearts? More like delicious croutons!

Sweet croutons, this salad is good!
