True about Spring — I did the same thing. Went with two friends, used 3 prix-fixe Groupons, spent tons of money anyway. But that said, I think it’s up to the resto to decide how all-in they’ll go. Hemmingway’s is just being cautious — and thereby limiting themselves to tables-for-two.

Can you use this Groupon for the Sunday Brunch?

Hello Groupies!
@ Thomas- This groupon is not valid with other offers including the Sunday brunch.
Kat @ Groupon
Please clarify the “not valid for Sunday brunch” comment, as I’m not seeing anywhere that indicates this specific point. Sunday brunch has a full paragraph and is also included in the Highlights bullet points.
People who complain about the ‘one coupon per table’ general rule are plain CHEAP! Come on! Most Groupon deals are pretty generous.
Um, it better be valid with the Sunday brunch, as it is listed under “Highlights”
I bought the groupon because I live in OP and want to try dinner here, but the fact that you can’t use it on brunch is kinda baloney. A) It’s mentioned in the description (the brunch) B) it’s nearly $30 for brunch (how is that a deal?) and C) that the groupon is somehow not valid for brunch is not explicitly listed on the main page (not all folks travel over here to the read the discussion points). My two cents. That said, I am looking forward to dinner.
Are there any other restrictions that are not explicitly called out in “The Fine Print” that I need to be aware of?

Well if I can’t use this for brunch I think I’ll bypass purchasing this then. Don’t understand why you can’t use it for a $30 brunch but can for dinner…

Hello Groupies!!!
Our bad- THIS GROUPON IS VALID FOR SUNDAY BRUNCH!
my apologies for any confusion! please let me know of any other questions!
Kat @ Groupon
It does not say “Not valid for Brunch” anywhere except here in the Comments section. Brunch is probably the only time I would be able use the groupon. Can someone from Groupon.com definitively confirm – is this groupon good for brunch or not? Grazie!
Grazie!!! I’m in…

Hello Again!
THIS GROUPON IS VALID FOR BRUNCH! I REPEAT- THIS GROUPON IS VALID FOR BRUNCH :)
sorry about the confusion.
Kat @ Groupon
This is an excellent deal. The food is excellent. I especially enjoy the Sunday brunch since it includes seafood, champagne, etc. Furthermore, the service is excellent!
Thanks Groupon!!
Fabulous food. Love ths restaurant
Does anyone know if this restaurant is baby friendly? I have a 15 month old that is really great in restaurants and I’d love to try the Sunday brunch!
I’ll make sure not to act like one when I go .
Hey Paul- I’m not cheap- but I guess for this one I get it because it was just a gift card type of purchase and not a menu like Spring was. Anyways- thanks for the judgement.

Thanks Kat! I purchased my Groupon this evening!
This is one of our favorite places. Classic French fare, light sauces, great meats, perfect fish and the staff; Pete, Chef Chris and Marbella and everyone there treats you with passion and good taste. We’ve been bringing our 5 year-old here since she was a baby and they always accommodate her. We hit breakfast (I recommend the brie and salmon and eggs), lunch (fish specials are light and TASTY) and dinner (pork with pappardelle is freaking spectacular). AND for those of you who think an establishment or Groupon is acting too tight, what do you know about anything anyway. You got your hands out way too much. Fact: Using this example $20 gets you $40 credit. Do you know how much Groupon gets from each Groupon you buy? 30% off the top. The math: $20 purchase gets Hemmingway’s $14 for $40 credit to you (Groupon gets $6). That’s food on the plate below cost to you just get NEW business in the door. Old hacks like me will love Groupon and respect an owner who sticks they’re neck out to pull this off weather I like the place or not. Also you’d better believe the staff at a lot of these restaurants get screwed on tips when cheapos don’t tip out on the actual value of the tab.. All that said, I think Groupon is great (I wish I’d started it). Business owners get new business we get great deals, Groupon gets a cut and delivers great content-everyone wins.

Seriously- the restaurants that offer a groupon of only one per table are kind of lame. Because I live in Oak Park, I am going to buy this- but usually I boycott the one per table nonsense. So can I strongly suggest that Groupon sells restaurants a little harder on letting guest use at LEAST 2 per table?
My husband and I used 2 groupons at Spring recently, and let me tell you- we spent a lot more than even we expected with the add-ons. Restaurants WILL see a return, so I think they should not skimp out on this one per table business.
