Though holding a mountain pose yields comfort and serenity, holding a mountain goat yields a lifelong friendship. Embrace tranquility with this Groupon.
Choose Between Two Options
- $39 for 10 antigravity- or universal-yoga classes (a $100 value)
- $69 for 20 antigravity- or universal-yoga classes (a $200 value)
Filled with classic, flowing stretches performed on the floor, universal-yoga sessions welcome all levels of skill and last 60–90 minutes. Patrons stretch toward enlightenment in antigravity Dawn Patrol morning classes, which use wall ropes, slacklines, and Gravotonics yoga swings. Using yoga swings to reverse gravity's pull, participants hold many poses including the "bow pose" (pictured above) for longer than possibly thought. After defying the laws of physics for 30 minutes, the group alights to explore sun salutations and reacquaint itself with Earth’s oxygen-rich atmosphere before finishing the 90-minute class with a final 30 minutes of traditional asana practice and deep relaxation.
Highland Lake Yoga
Within a valley of the Blue Ridge mountains, a stone path leads to the door of a rustic, barn-like house surrounded by organic gardens and 26 acres of woods. Located on the campus of the Highland Lake Inn, Highland Lake Yoga's, director and primary senior yoga instructor Fred Brown funnels more than 35 years of teaching experience into more than 10 weekly classes, motivating his students toward greater mental and physical health. He builds each routine upon Iyengar methods, while incorporating universal-yoga techniques developed by Ukranian master Andrey Lappa. As patrons strengthen their mind-body connections, local wildlife occasionally waddles up to peer into the studio windows, hoping to glimpse poses or antigravity-yoga students suspended in mid-air.
