On Tuesday, January 15, the Houston Young Professionals Society joins CultureMap in sponsoring Mixer on the Map from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Monarch Restaurant & Lounge inside Hotel ZaZa. After guests hand over their vehicles to a complimentary valet service, they enter the restaurant's vast, dome-topped mezzanine—an elegant backdrop for professional mingling facilitated by seasonal drink specials and complimentary hors d'oeuvres. In addition to this opportunity to meet Houston's up-and-coming entrepreneurs, the membership package includes:

  • One-year membership to the Houston Young Professionals Society, including an invitation to all HYPS-sponsored events

Houston Young Professionals Society

With the June 2012 debut of the Houston Young Professionals Society, urbanite Freddy Goerges made a splashy statement for his vision for Houston's young professionals. He hoped to bring together people like himself: professionals between the ages of 21 and 44 with interest in social media, volunteering, and simply getting out of the house. Through online and analog social connections and regularly scheduled cocktail mixers, the business-savvy social butterflies link 300–600 like-minded peers per event, helping guests build connections to break into a new industry or accumulate enough business cards to wallpaper a new condo. The society holds about 12 monthly events and 10 co-sponsored events, and has about 15,000 subscribers and 3,500 online members.
