The kitchen is statistically the most dangerous room in a home because it contains the highest concentration of knives, open flames, and pots full of freedom-hungry lobsters. Learn to navigate this danger zone with this Groupon.

Choose from Three Options

  • $35 for an Italian Cooking or World Tapas class for one (up to a $75 value)
  • $69 for an Italian Cooking or World Tapas class for two (up to a $150 value)
  • $129 for an Italian Cooking or World Tapas class for four (up to a $300 value)

The Italian Cooking class covers the necessary prep for classic dishes, including a caprese salad with pan-seared mozzarella, potato gnocchi, and spaghetti carbonara. Students also absorb tips on locating and blending Italian spices to jazz up future meals.

Alternatively, professional chefs outline the assembly and presentation of three small platters during the World Tapas class. Guests listen to the history, culture, and methodology of tapas as they build their own dishes, which incorporate a broad range of flavors. The type of tapas varies with each class.

Classes are held at restaurants, bars, and kitchen spaces in the Loop, River North, West Loop, Lincoln Park, Bucktown, and Lakeview. Visit the website for Italian-Cooking and World-Tapas locations.

The Groupon Guide to: Phases of the Moon

At some point in most people's lives they will look up during a night sky and notice that the mysterious glowing orb that follows them to their car appears to be shrinking, or—at the very least—have some kind of bite out of it. Shed light on this confusion with our guide to the different phases of the moon:

INTRO:

Crescent Moon: Resembles someone attempting to wink at you, but not doing a good enough job to seal the deal.
Full Moon: Perfect time for a visit, as there will be more moon to stand on.
Half Moon: This phase of the moon is the logo for, and is sponsored by, TBS: Very Funny—On The Moon?!
Waxing Gibbous: Like most cosmic phenomena, this phase of the moon is named after a Star Wars character, because most scientists weren't exactly high-school quarterbacks, if you know what I mean.
Blue Moon: Easy to remember, because the moon will be a piercing blood red.
New Moon: The partial moon, currently under construction at Cape Canaveral, has an improved LED screen to remind everyone that sponsor TBS is still very funny.

Does the moon exist?
