I just tried using my Groupon and not only was it not good with the Kids Eat Free, but it could not be used with EVERYTHING on the menu. It ended up being cheaper for us to use the Kids Eat Free promotion and the meals we wanted were on the 7 for $7 menu (which does not count with the Groupon!). We would have paid about $12 more for our dinner using the Groupon than we did not using it. Our waitress realized how ridiculous this was and was kind enough to take one of our entrees off our check on her own volition, which was so kind. We tipped her generously and will not return to IHOP.

Erica, I am truly sorry about your frustration. That is certainly not our intention in running the various discount programs that we run. We try very hard to reach as many customers as possible with various offers in an attempt to create great value for everybody. It does state specifically on the bottom of every Groupon voucher that the Groupon is not valid with any other promotional offer. Both our Kids Eat Free program and our 7 for 7 value menu are promotional offers, and both also disclose that certain terms apply. I know that may not solve your frustration, but we are trying to be as clear as we can. Ultimately, if we do everything on everything, we could not possibly stay in business. This Groupon is a great offer to the community to drive customers in to try a great IHOP meal for a very reasonable price.

I don't know specifically about a gift code. But each groupon does have a unique code that signifies that particular groupon, and can be redeemed by printing the groupon, or showing the code on a smartphone. You can purchase a groupon and give it as a gift, or purchase one for yourself, and another as a gift. However, this particular groupon is only valid in Spokane, Coeur D'Alene, and Ellensburg IHOP locations, so that is important to keep in mind. I hope this answers your question. Thanks!
