The description talks about the wine menu, but I would like to see specifically that it covers alcohol, a couple could eat at this place for 25$ so hopefully alcohol is included to make this one make sense. I wish that Groupon would just make sure that all restaurants always specify if alcohol is included since this is pretty much always the first question.

Beth B.

Under “The Deal FAQ” it says:

Restaurant Groupons

Can I use this for alcohol?
Yes, and enjoy! (Unless the Fine Print explicitly says you can’t, in which case, well, you can’t. Sorry.)

And the Fine Print for this one doesn’t state it doesn’t cover alcohol.

Can this be used for brunch at their Jade Lounge?

camelia b.

Can we take our 2 kids with us?

Top o’ the morn PDX

Beth, your exactly right.

Ryan, this deal does include food and drinks. Restrictions/exclusions are usually spelled out in the fine print.

Christina, this cannot be used for brunch at the Jade Lounge.

Camelia, you certainly can take you kids.

Thanks for your interest folks.

If I want to buy one for myself and one for a gift, do I have to do it in two transactions?

John W.

Mark,

You can do that in 1 transaction. Just select “2” in the quantity box after you click “buy.”

Best,

All of my experiences have been great!

I would be shocked too! I use Groupon all the time and have never had a problen. Groupon is growing so fast in our community, I think it is a great thing to have available for both businesses and customers!

Katie .

Just remember that the Groupon states “only one per customer” or “only one per group of two at a table” so maybe miscommunications could have happened when going to the cafe, since the food items are generally less expensive than other non-cafe restaurants.

I am a small business owner (Thirst Wine Bar) and recently had a groupon. A great promotion that has brought really cool, new customers to us! Businesses need to understand the program and also set up parameters that work best for them. It is a win/win promotion and the Groupon folks have been very flexible and a pleasure to work with.

Groupon is a great way to “test drive” restaurants and bars; if your experience is positive, you’ll be back at full price!

Hello Everybody,

We’re trying to keep this thread clear so that people can ask questions and share comments about today’s deal. While we have a very liberal discussion board policy, we do need to try to maintain some order in terms of thread separation by topic.

Therefore we’ve transferred the exchange between myself, Travo, Dawne and Megan K. from this thread and have moved it into a new, separate thread entitled, “Trouble Redeeming Groupons”. Those who are interested in checking this out or continuing to contribute, please visit the Portland Discussion page and you’ll see the thread there shortly.

Thanks and sorry for the mixing of threads!

Regards,

Thanks for getting your Groupon!

Diana S.

I am new to Groupon and came back to buy 2 more certificates to Il Piatto ….and it is no where to be found! Are these offers a one time only shot???

Christina K.

Most Groupons can be purchased for one day only, some Friday deals may last throughout a weekend and some have specific numbers, like to events, where they may sell out. Always best to buy one for yourself and any you want to gift once you know it’s a deal you like.

Seriously one of the WORST dining experiences I have ever had in Portland!!! Swarms of fruit flies, butter that tasted like the inside of a fridge, greasy polenta fries, disgusting sauce on ricotta crepes, “carbonara” that was basically butter, cream and pasta-no real flavor, Bolognese that a 4th grader could have made, Ceasar salad with the greasiest croutons ever and disgusting dressing, … UGGGGGHHHHHHH! The only reason I did not run out of there screaming is that I didn’t want to offend my date.
